Forecasts indicate the possibility of a severe weather event over the southwest Iowa, southeast Nebraska, northwest Missouri, and northeast Kansas Monday afternoon.

WFO Omaha HWO:
Quote::
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVER THE REGION MONDAY AS A VIGOROUS FAST MOVING STORM SYSTEM LIFTS ACROSS NEBRASKA. ALTHOUGH INSTABILITY WILL BE LIMITED BY CLOUDS AND RAIN OVER A MAJORITY OF THE AREA...A DRY SLOT COULD WRAP INTO THIS FAST MOVING SYSTEM WHICH WOULD ALLOW ADDITIONAL HEATING MONDAY. IF THE DRY SLOT WOULD HAPPEN TO MAKE IT INTO SOUTHWEST IOWA BY AFTERNOON...ENOUGH ADDITIONAL DESTABILIZATION COULD OCCUR TO ALLOW FOR ISOLATED LOW TOPPED SUPERCELLS OR A BROKEN SQUALL LINE. IF THAT WERE TO OCCUR...A FEW STORMS COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES.

Severe weather may also be possible further north towards Sioux City however the outlook from WFO Sioux Falls indicates only marginal severe storms at this time. WFO Des Moines says "small chance" of severe across roughly the southern 2/3rds of its CWA (along/south of US 30).
