  <title>Scout Camp Destroyed by Tornado - Fatalities Reported</title>

A tornado touched down in the northwest corner of Harrison County [IA] around 6:35 PM this evening (June 11), which then moved northeast crossing into Monona County [IA]. The tornado destroyed buildings at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch, approximately 45 miles north of Omaha, Nebraska and 45 miles south of Sioux City, Iowa. Four fatalities have been reported and numerous injured, reports that two were taken by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Update: 2:30 PM Thursday NWS Omaha/Valley, NE has confirmed that an EF3 tornado, with winds estimated at around 145 MPH did go through the camp. Additional information along with WSR-88D imagery is available from their website.</description>

NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio station KXI-98 in Marshalltown broadcasting on a frequency of 162.500 mhz will be off the air indefinitely. This outage will begin on Monday June 9, 2008 due to high water at the transmitter site. The return to service time is unknown.</description>

What more is there to say about it than WOW. State of Iowa officials have so far confirmed 5 deaths in the City of Parkersburg, as well a 2 Deaths in New Hartford. Parkersburg was also evacuated after an Anhydrous Ammonia leak started due to the tornado.</description>
